This tool helps with difficult or complex choices. It runs entirely in your browser; nothing you enter is sent anywhere.

  1. First, enter the decision you need help with, such as “Where do I want to move?”
  2. Next, enter your potential options: every choice you are considering.
  3. Then enter your decision factors, the things that make one option better than another, such as “beautiful scenery”, “clean air” or “good schools”.
  4. Rate how important each factor is, from 1 to 10.
  5. Score how well each option does on each factor, from 1 to 10.
  6. Each score is multiplied by its factor's importance and added up. The tool shows the totals, with the best and worst choices marked.
